Bertie Thompson (Te Ata’s Mother)

Te Ata’s mother, Bertie (Freund) Thompson was a tremendous influence on her children. She worked hard, tending to both housework and farm work, and she passed on her strong sense of ethics and love of nature to Te Ata. Her neighbors remembered her as a giving person who would provide clothing and medicine for anyone who was in need.
